2. Prepress

Our sophisticated Prepress Department allows us to direct scan paintings up to 4" thick and 36" x 48" in size. We also scan transparencies or work from your digital files. All steps of the workflow utilize custom ICC profiles. Printing equipment is calibrated on a regular basis to provide accurate and consistent results.

3. Proofing.

Prior to production of final prints, images are carefully analyzed, adjusted and proofed by skilled technicians and Master Printmakers. Once an artist approves the proof, the proof print is retained in our files to check color on future reorders. Final files are indexed for retrieval and archived to CD.

4. Printing

Giclee production is a technical hands-on process requiring skilled printmakers. One high resolution print may take one hour to print. Many believe our Giclee PrintmakerFA drum and Roland V8 printers to be the finest giclee printing equipment made.

Unlike other giclee printing devices which use 4 or 6 colors of ink- ours use 8. The extra multi-density inks provide extended color gamut, enhanced detail and continuous tone quality prints.

By running 6 individual printers, we maintain steady workflow with virtually no down time due to breakdowns and maintenance. New jobs and reorders are processed in a timely manner. We are also able to match the best printer and ink combination to the job, which is something most other printmakers cannot match.

As founding members of the Giclee Printers Association (GPA), we have helped define and set standards for the rest of the giclee industry, as well as provide ongoing input and testing of inks and media. We adhere to strict printmaking standards consistent with production of collectible fine art prints and utilize acid-free materials and UV rated inks.

5. Curation

Once prints come off the printers, they need to be inspected, trimmed and processed according to individual instructions. Canvas prints are hand-coated with protective UV sealer in our paint booth.

6. Shipping

Our final job is to get the prints out on time and in the customer's hands. Orders are normally shipped FedEx and carefully packaged to avoid damage. Original paintings are returned in the packaging they arrived in- unless we deem it necessary to better protect the painting. Prints are shipped rolled or flat depending on the best method. Whenever possible, we recycle heavy duty boxes.
